Johnny Castellanos, professionally known as Johnny Cake, is a celebrity barber and hairstylist. Castellanos’s grandfather, who was a barber himself, taught him the art of cutting hair. The Englewood resident rose to fame after being discovered by record executive and entrepreneur Damon Dash who later introduced him to his client and legendary rapper Jay-Z in 1997. The star was instantly impressed by his talent and has since called upon the hairdresser to deliver fresh cuts on a weekly basis.
In 2003, the talented stylist inaugurated his barbershop, “The Shop” in New Jersey, which caters to locals and celebrities from the sports and entertainment industry. With over two decades of experience in the industry, the famous barber has developed quite a reputation for himself and is deemed as the ‘Kobe Bryant‘ of barbers. Other than Jay-Z, Johnny Cake has frequently worked with renowned clients, including Chris Rock, Michael Jackson, Quincy Jones, Pharell Williams, Stevie Wonder, and Snoop Dogg.
