Booksy pricing for barbers and the 30% Boost fee (2026)
The subscription, the Boost commission and the card fees, with the maths on when Boost is worth switching on.

TrimCheck is not a booking app. We connect barbers to every channel on top of whichever app they run, so we have no favourite here. Every number is from the platforms’ own pricing pages on the date shown, and we say plainly which one wins.

Booksy against Fresha for your month
Subscription plus new-client commission plus card fees at the platform’s published online rate. Marketplace clients are counted once, at their first visit, as each platform’s fee rules state. Tax not included. Your own regulars never carry a commission on any of these platforms.
When Boost pays for itself
Boost costs 30% of a first visit. On a £30 cut that is £9. If that client returns four times in the year, you paid £9 for £150 of work: an easy yes. If your area is full of one-off bookers, Boost can eat a third of every new client and send nobody back. The test is simple: run Boost for two months, count how many Boost clients rebooked, and keep it only if more than half did.
Two habits keep the cost down regardless. Give regulars your direct link so their bookings never count as marketplace bookings. And keep the channels that charge nothing feeding the same diary: a Google Business Profile with a booking link, Instagram, and the home-visit requests TrimCheck sends from its city pages.
Keep your app. Add every channel.
Whichever app you pick, TrimCheck sits on top of it: your profile goes out to every channel, one calendar stays true, and every request lands on your WhatsApp. No monthly fee, no commission.
Questions barbers ask
How much does Booksy cost per month?
£40 a month in the UK plus £5 for each extra user. $29.99 a month in the US plus $20 per additional staff member. Everything is included at that price: online booking, reminders, marketing tools, no-show protection. Card processing is charged separately.
What is the Booksy Boost fee?
A one-time 30% of the total cost of a new client’s first visit, charged when Boost sent you that client. In the UK the minimum is £5. Boost is a switch: on, and your listing is promoted in the Booksy marketplace with the 30% attached; off, and you pay nothing per client.
Does Booksy take commission on my existing clients?
No. Clients who book through your own Booksy link, your Instagram or a direct search for your name are never charged, and returning clients never are either. The 30% is only for first visits Boost generated.
What are Booksy’s card fees?
UK: 1.29% + 20p plus VAT for mobile payments, 0.99% + 20p plus VAT for Tap to Pay. US: 2.69% + 30¢ for mobile and keyed payments, 2.49% + 10¢ with the Booksy card reader, 2.49% + 20¢ for Tap to Pay. Fast payouts within 30 minutes cost 1.5%.
Is there a free version of Booksy?
No. There is a 7-day trial in the UK and 14 days in the US with no card required. The old Booksy consumer app is free for clients, not for barbers.
