Fresha fees for barbers, explained (2026)
Fresha stopped being free. Here is every charge a barber pays, with worked months and how to keep it down.
Prices checked 23 September 2026
TrimCheck is not a booking app. We connect barbers to every channel on top of whichever app they run, so we have no favourite here. Every number is from the platforms’ own pricing pages on the date shown, and we say plainly which one wins.

Fresha against Booksy for your month
Subscription plus new-client commission plus card fees at the platform’s published online rate. Marketplace clients are counted once, at their first visit, as each platform’s fee rules state. Tax not included. Your own regulars never carry a commission on any of these platforms.
Worked examples
| Month | Subscription | New client fees | Card fees (online rate) | Total |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Solo, 4 new marketplace clients at £30, £1,200 on card | £14.95 | £24 | £32 | about £71 |
| Solo, 12 new clients at £25, £3,000 on card | £14.95 | £60 | £84 | about £159 |
| Team of 3, 20 new clients at £28, £7,000 on card | £29.85 | £112 | £189 | about £331 |
How to keep the bill down
- Send regulars your direct Fresha link, not the marketplace listing. Direct bookings carry no new-client fee.
- Take in-person payment on the terminal (1.29% + 20p in the UK) rather than online prepayment (1.99% + 20p) where no-shows are not a problem.
- Skip add-ons until a month’s income justifies them; $59.95 for loyalty is two haircuts a month before it earns anything.
- Feed the channels that carry no commission into the same diary. Fresha’s two-way Google Calendar sync is why it works so well under a channel manager: a Google, Instagram or home-visit booking blocks the Fresha slot the moment it lands.
Keep your app. Add every channel.
Whichever app you pick, TrimCheck sits on top of it: your profile goes out to every channel, one calendar stays true, and every request lands on your WhatsApp. No monthly fee, no commission.
Questions barbers ask
Is Fresha free in 2026?
No. Fresha charges £14.95 a month for a solo barber in the UK ($19.95 in the US) and £9.95 per bookable team member on the team plan ($14.95), with a minimum of two on the team plan. Both come with a 7-day trial.
How much is the Fresha new client fee?
20% of the first appointment’s value for each client who books you through the Fresha marketplace for the first time, with a $6 minimum in the US. Clients who book through your own link, Instagram or a direct search on your name are not charged. Returning clients are never charged.
What are Fresha’s card fees?
UK: 1.99% + 20p online, 1.29% + 20p in person. US: 2.79% + 20¢ online, 2.29% + 20¢ in person plus 10¢ per Tap to Pay authorisation, 3.30% + 20¢ for manual card entry. Klarna is 5.99% + 30¢.
Can I avoid the marketplace fee?
Yes. Share your own Fresha booking link (your regulars use it and pay no fee), and take bookings through channels that carry no commission, such as your Google Business Profile and Instagram. A channel manager keeps those bookings and your Fresha diary in one calendar.
Is Fresha worth it for a mobile barber?
For the diary, yes: the two-way Google Calendar sync is the best of the big apps and the price is low. For new clients, less so; Fresha’s marketplace is salon-first, and a mobile barber gets few home-visit requests from it. Keep it as the diary and connect the channels that do send home visits.
