TrimCheck is not a booking app. We connect barbers to every channel on top of whichever app they run, so we have no favourite here. Every number is from the platforms’ own pricing pages on the date shown, and we say plainly which one wins.

Booksy against Squire for your month

Boost is assumed on for Booksy. Squire shows its plan only, because its card rates are not published; add your quoted rate to compare the whole bill. Fresha is in for reference.

Subscription plus new-client commission plus card fees at the platform’s published online rate. Marketplace clients are counted once, at their first visit, as each platform’s fee rules state. Tax not included. Your own regulars never carry a commission on any of these platforms.

Three barbers, three answers

BarberBooksy: plan + BoostSquire: planBetter pick
Solo, Boost off, every client your own$29.99$30 (Independent)Level. Booksy if you want the listing, Squire if you want the shop tools
Solo, Boost on, 8 new marketplace clients at $30$29.99 + $72 = $102$30, and no marketplace clientsBooksy, if those 8 clients come back
Four-barber shop with a front desk$29.99 + 3 × $20 = $90$50 (Pro), or $150 (Executive) with marketing and rent collectionSquire

Boost is 30% of a new client’s first visit. Card fees are extra on both: Booksy publishes 2.69% + 30¢ (about $111 on $3,000 at $30 a cut); Squire quotes its rate per shop. Rounded.

Where each one wins

Booksy

  • The marketplace is where US barber clients already search.
  • Published card rates.
  • Cheaper than Squire for a solo barber who also wants a listing.
  • Boost off means a flat $29.99 diary.

Squire

  • $50 for a whole shop against $20 per extra head on Booksy.
  • Rent and commission collection from your barbers, built in.
  • Waitlist, shop reporting, branded app and multi-location at the top tiers.
  • No commission, ever, because there is no marketplace.

Running both

A shop on Squire can keep a Booksy listing for the marketplace. The problem is the same as everywhere: two calendars, one slot. TrimCheck does not replace any of them. It sits on top of the app you run, pushes your profile to every channel and keeps one calendar true.

Keep your app. Add every channel.

Whichever app you pick, TrimCheck sits on top of it: your profile goes out to every channel, one calendar stays true, and every request lands on your WhatsApp. No monthly fee, no commission.

Questions barbers ask

How much does Squire cost?

$30 a month for the Independent plan (one barber), $50 for Pro (multiple barber accounts, waitlist, Google and Instagram booking), $150 per shop for Executive (unlimited email and SMS marketing, commission and rent collection) and $250 per shop for Titan (multi-location, branded app, loyalty, gift cards, inventory). There is a 14-day trial. Card processing rates are not published on the pricing page.

Does Squire have a marketplace like Booksy?

No. Squire is shop software; every client comes through your own link, your Google Business Profile, Instagram or the door. There is no commission because there is nothing to pay commission on. Booksy’s marketplace is the reason it can charge 30% with Boost on.

Which is cheaper for a solo barber?

Level on the plan: $29.99 on Booksy against $30 on Squire. Booksy adds 30% of a new client’s first visit while Boost is on, and its card fees are published at 2.69% + 30¢. Squire’s card rates are quoted per shop, so ask before you compare the total.

Which is cheaper for a shop with four barbers?

Squire. Pro is $50 a month for the shop; Booksy is $29.99 plus $20 for each of the three extra staff, so $89.99 before Boost. Squire’s Executive plan at $150 per shop adds marketing and rent collection that Booksy does not have.

Can I run Booksy and Squire together?

Some shops keep a Booksy listing for the marketplace and run the shop on Squire. It works only if the calendars agree, and Booksy imports outside calendars one way. A channel manager keeps one calendar true across both; TrimCheck does that with no fee.
