Fresha against Squire for your month

Squire shows its plan only, because its card rates are not published; add your quoted rate to compare the whole bill. Booksy is in for reference, with Boost on.

Subscription plus new-client commission plus card fees at the platform’s published online rate. Marketplace clients are counted once, at their first visit, as each platform’s fee rules state. Tax not included. Your own regulars never carry a commission on any of these platforms.

Fresha takes 20% of a new marketplace client’s first visit, minimum $6. Card fees are extra on both: Fresha publishes 2.79% + 20¢ online and 2.29% + 20¢ in person (about $104 or $89 on $3,000 at $30 a cut); Squire quotes its rate per shop. Rounded.

Where each one wins

Fresha

  • Cheapest paid diary for a solo barber or a team of three or fewer.
  • A marketplace, even if salon-first.
  • Published card rates and two-way Google Calendar sync.
  • Works in the UK, the Gulf and beyond, not just the US.

Squire

  • $50 flat for a shop against Fresha’s per-head pricing from four barbers up.
  • Rent and commission collection from your barbers.
  • Waitlist, shop reporting, branded app, multi-location.
  • No commission on anything.

Running both

A shop on Squire with a barber who keeps a Fresha listing is two diaries for one chair. TrimCheck does not replace any of them. It sits on top of the app you run, pushes your profile to every channel and keeps one calendar true.

Keep your app. Add every channel.

Whichever app you pick, TrimCheck sits on top of it: your profile goes out to every channel, one calendar stays true, and every request lands on your WhatsApp. No monthly fee, no commission.

Questions barbers ask

Which is cheaper, Fresha or Squire?

Fresha for a solo barber ($19.95 against $30) and for a team of two or three ($14.95 per person against $50 flat). Squire’s Pro plan is cheaper from four barbers ($50 against $59.80). Fresha then adds 20% of a new marketplace client’s first visit, minimum $6; Squire adds nothing because it has no marketplace.

Does Squire have a marketplace?

No. Every client on Squire comes through your own booking link, Google, Instagram or the door. Fresha lists you in its marketplace and charges 20% of the first visit of any client who finds you there.

Which has the better calendar sync?

Fresha: two-way Google Calendar sync and ICS feeds for Apple and Outlook. Squire offers Google and Instagram booking buttons on Pro and above; its calendar sync options are not spelled out on the pricing page, so ask.

What does Squire have that Fresha does not?

Shop management: rent and commission collection from the barbers in your shop, a waitlist, shop-level reporting, a branded app and multi-location support at the top tiers. Fresha sells some of that as add-ons priced per location, and does not do rent collection at all.

Can I use Fresha and Squire together?

A shop can run on Squire while a barber inside it keeps a Fresha listing, but two diaries for one chair means double bookings unless one calendar is the truth. A channel manager keeps them in step; TrimCheck does that for free.
